Thursday’s Thirteen Things I Love #1

For the first six months of having this website, I’ve decided it could be fun to challenge myself in thankfulness, and share thirteen things I love every Thursday.  (Side note: my husband was making fun of me because I chose the number thirteen, but I’m an elementary teacher at heart, and I love myself a good alliteration.  Th-ursday’s Th-irteen Th-ings. Ahhhh, the sweet, sweet sound.)  This is also a quick and easy way for us to get to know one another.  You’re free to share your favorite things as well!  I’ll do my best to stay original, and not agree with/steal your ideas as we continue, and I hope you follow along!

Some will be shallow, little things, some will be more serious and thought-provoking.  Bear with me.  Here are my first thirteen in no particular order.

  1. I love waking in the morning to the sound of the birds chirping out the open window.
  2. I love grapefruit La Croix, through and through.
  3. I love being away for a weekend or vacation and remembering that home has a smell all of its own when I walk through the door.
  4. I love discovering a new song I love that’s worthy of being on repeat for a while.
  5. I love love when my yard surprises me by blooming with crazy beautiful flowers! (Can you believe that sweet little bouquet in the picture is from my yard?  Swoon.)
  6. I love when I come home with the groceries because I know it’ll be at least 10 days until I have to force myself to go again.
  7. I love driving with the windows down and a good song playing while I hold the hand of my love.
  8. I love playing Bananagrams.
  9. I love being able to see the stars—they always seem like tiny holes of light being let into a big black canvas covering the earth.
  10. I love chocolate chip cookie dough. I could eat it for all three meals if I knew it wouldn’t make me vomit.
  11. I love when people do or say things that are surprising. It helps me to realize that there’s more about them I don’t know.
  12. I love hosting people—especially the people that have helped make me who I am.
  13. I love using a water bottle with a straw. It makes me drink more water.

Okay, now it’s your turn—what are some of the things that bring you joy?  Respond in the comments! Ohhhhh, I just can’t wait to revel in thankfulness with you!

What a great idea Lindsay! I’ll leave THree THings I love in the comments:

I love that my almost 13 year old still turns around to blow me a kiss, when and where ever I drop him off for one of his many activities.

I love emptying out the container from my bag less vacuum after vacuuming the rugs…..Gross right?

I love taking my kids to get a treat at Casey’s. Such a small thing, but they love it EVERY time. Makes my heart smile that they appreciate the little things!

I love #13 too! And obviously #10. We probably need a Custard Cup date when I come down for some cookie dough blizzards 🙂

Hi Lindsay!! Finally read all your blogs today, truly beautifully written and expressed. I love your love for Jesus and everything else lol.. I’ll share some of my loves as well..
    1. I love watching Kaylee dance… She sure can shake that booty that mama gave her lol..
    2. I love love love when she says “you’re the best mama I ever had” to me and gives me the sweetest hugs that melt me.
    3. I love the love she has for her family especially for Grammy, Aunt Starr, Uncle Butch, and Aunt Shelly since she sees them more.. Although her love for Uncle Greg and his humor is growing 😉 I only wish that she would have had a chance to get to know Aunt Diane and Uncle Jim but know they’re watching down over all of us. <3
    4. I love that Kaylee knows most of the words to my NSYNC greatest hits CD!!!! She asks for it in the car all the time. It's so fun to sing songs together with her especially since I don't really knows any other music lyrics. You should see the expression on her face when she sings This I Promise You!!! So serious and cute at the same time..
    5. You can see that all the things I've said so far are about Kaylee, that's because she's the center and light of my life, but also the source of frown wrinkles and wanting to pull out my hair etc… However I do also love God the heavenly Father and His Son Jesus. My love and relationships with Him are constantly wavering and/or growing. It's a work in progress but I try to pray, and pray with Kaylee and teach her to have a relationship as well.
Love you and your beautiful growing family!!
